These terms are the agreement between you and Kimbia when you use the app. By creating an account you accept them. If you do not, don’t create one.
1. This is a beta
Kimbia is pre-release software. Features will change, break, and occasionally disappear. GPS traces may be imperfect and coach insights may be wrong. During the beta we may need to reset data while we change how things are stored — we will warn you first where we can.
The beta is free. Everyone who joins during it keeps Pro at no charge for twelve months after the app launches publicly.
2. Your account
Sign up with a real email address you control, keep your password to yourself, and use one account per person. You are responsible for what happens under your account. You must be at least 13 years old.
3. Running fair
The leaderboard only means something if the runs are real. Please don’t:
- Log runs you did not run — including cycling, driving, or spoofed GPS.
- Use several accounts to game the standings.
- Pick a display name that impersonates someone or that you’d be embarrassed to explain.
- Scrape the service, hammer our servers, or reverse engineer the app.
4. The coach is not a doctor
Workouts, paces and insights in Kimbia are general training suggestions produced from your own run data. They are not medical advice, diagnosis or treatment.
Talk to a doctor before starting or changing a training programme, especially if you have a heart, joint or breathing condition, are pregnant, or are returning from injury. If something hurts, stop — the plan can wait.
5. Your safety on the road
Watch where you are going, not your phone. Obey traffic rules, run visible, and choose your own route — Kimbia shows a map but does not judge whether a road is safe to run on. GPS accuracy varies with buildings, weather and your device.
6. Your runs are yours
You keep ownership of everything you record. You give us permission to store it and show it back to you, and to display your display name and period totals on the leaderboards — nothing more. We do not sell it or license it on.
The app itself, its name and its design stay ours. See the Privacy Policy for what we collect and why.
7. Free and Pro
Kimbia has a free tier that stays free. Pro is a paid subscription after launch, billed through the App Store or Google Play under their terms, including how renewals, refunds and cancellations work. Cancel from your store account at any time; Pro features stop at the end of the paid period and your runs stay put.
Prices may change. We will tell you before a change affects a subscription you already hold.
8. Availability
We aim to keep Kimbia running but cannot promise it will always be available. We may add, change or retire features, and we may suspend the service for maintenance. Nothing here guarantees an uptime level during the beta.
9. Ending things
You can delete your account whenever you like, from the menu in the app. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, for fake runs or abuse of other runners, usually without a second warning. If we ever shut Kimbia down, we will give you notice and a way to take your runs with you.
10. Warranty and liability
Kimbia is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost data, or injury arising from your use of the app, and our total liability is limited to what you have paid us in the previous twelve months.
Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, in which case they apply only as far as permitted, and nothing here removes rights you have under consumer law.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of [state / country], and disputes go to the courts of [venue]. If we change these terms we will post the new version here and, for material changes, email everyone with an account.
12. Contact
Anything unclear here, write to hello@kimbia.run and we will explain it in plainer words.
